Rules and F.A.Q

Welcome to Star Idol Academy!

Before you can join the group, you'll need to decide what type of student you wish to apply as!

Would you like to be an Idol?
How about a Designer?
Or would you like to help us make a Teacher?

Basic Idol/Character Creation Guide

Every idol student must pass through what we call auditions.  In order for your idol to be accepted in our group, you must follow these steps before sending us a join request:

Step 1: Reserve a color
Before you can submit an application, you must reserve your slot on our Reservations sheet.  All students, both idols and designers need to reserve before joining!  Instructions on how to do so can be found on the site tab.

Choosing an idol color
Idol colors are the signatures of an idol. It is a representation of your idol to their audience!  By reserving a color, you are not only keeping the color for yourself but you are also reserving your spot in our group. It's very important that you do this so we know how many students we have pending for when we do close.

You cannot reserve a color when we are closed. Reservations are for when we are open only.  Colors come on a first come first serve basis.

Every idol color must be unique.  No two colors may be too similar to each other.  If your color is too similar to a pre-existing color, you will be asked to change it.  You are welcome to use the same hue as another student, but there must be a visible difference between your color and other pre-existing colors.

Step 2: Complete the appropriate app

To apply as an idol student, please fill out the following application

IDOL.png

If you wish to apply as a designer, please fill out the application found here.

Your application art must feature two full-body drawings of your character in the school's uniform (one in summer uniform, and one in winter uniform!).  You are welcome to add any clothing/accessories on top of the uniform, but please refrain from altering the base design of the uniform itself.  Keep in mind that the uniforms will change with the seasons as well; in winter, your student will need to wear warmer clothes.  In the summer, they'll need something cooler!

Adding clothing/accessories
Your student is welcome to add any desired clothing or accessories to the uniform.  However, when doing so, there are a few things to keep in mind;

- The uniform collar and bow/tie must be visible.  Your tie displays both your idol color and your year, so it is imperative that it is visible on your application.  In addition, please refrain from wearing articles of clothing that would cover the sailor collar on the uniform.  When wearing sweaters, please be sure that the collar is layered over the sweater.

- The uniform bottoms must be black.  Although our uniform is highly customizable, the color of the pants/skirts is not.  We ask that you refrain from altering the pants/skirt in any way besides length.  Altering the color of the bottoms/adding details (such as stripes or other patterns) that were not already present is prohibited.

Things such as petticoats under the skirt are allowed, however.

For more information, please refer to our Uniform Guide.

Written application
In addition to the visual application, you will also need to fill out a written application, found in the deviation description.  Please refrain from leaving anything blank on the written application, if at all possible.  If you are unsure about something or have a question, however, you may leave a section blank and send your application to us via DM or in the student council channel, and we will look over your application/do our best to answer your questions.

The following section will break down and explain the written application:

Name: (your character's full name.  Please list as (last name, first name) unless your character is foreign (i.e., not from Japan.))

Nicknames: (other names your character may be called by.  (ex: if a character's name is Kino Makoto, their nicknames might be "mako-chan," "kino-san," "ko-chan," etc.)  Other players may give your OC a nickname as well.)

Age: (your character's age. (first year 15-16), (second year 16-17), (third year 17-18))

Birthday: (please include the month and date; the year is not required.  (ex: September 13th, 9/13, etc.))

Gender: (your character's gender/pronouns.  Non-binary/trans/genderfluid/intersex/etc. characters are welcome here!)

Height: (please list your character's height in cm and in feet.  If you are unsure how to calculate your character's height (in cm or feet) there are many websites that can do this for you.)

Weight: (please be sure the weight corresponds to their height/body type.  If you are unsure what your character's weight should be, simply Google search "average weight for (gender) (age) (height)." (ex: average weight for female, 17, 5'4") and several results for websites to assist in calculating this should pop up.)

Voice Sample: (Optional.  Please provide a link to both a speaking and singing voice for your character if able. You may include voices for other languages if your OC speaks more than one language, but try to keep the voices similar.  A good place to look for voices is on YouTube.)

Club: (optional.  If your OC wishes to join a club, please list the club name here.  A list of clubs may be found on our Clubs spreadsheet)

Personality: (your OC's personality.  Please try to keep this balanced, and avoid contradicting traits without explanation.  We request that you include at least 9 traits in your OC's personality; three positive, three neutral, and three negative.  You are more than welcome to go into more detail if desired; this is simply the minimum required.)

(Negative)

Likes: (What does your OC like?  Please include a list of at least 3-5 things.)

Dislikes: (What does your OC dislike?  Please include a list of at least 3-5 things.)

Idol Group: (Optional.  If your idol is in a unit, list the unit name here.  For more information on units, please see our Units Journal. If your OC is a designer, this section will not be included in your application.)

(optional info) Idol/Designer Level: (total amount of idol/designer EXP - your student's EXP is kept track of on a publicly viewable spreadsheet, so you don't need to include this in your bio if you don't want to!)
(optional info) Student Level: (total amount of student EXP - your student's EXP is kept track of on a publicly viewable spreadsheet, so you don't need to include this in your bio if you don't want to!)

Trivia: (Any additional info about your character goes here.  Feel free to include fun facts, or bits of info that don't fit anywhere else!)

Step 3: Send the group an invite
Once your app is completed, please send one of our admins a DM with the following info:

Your app link
The answer to Question: What must you do to pass the activity check?
The answer to Question: What is the name of the Idol SIA is opened in honor of?

Failure to include these in your invitation or anything mentioned above will result in your app being declined.
Once you send us the invite we will check your app and assign you a class (if you are an idol) which you can then put in your app! Once your application is accepted, please submit it to the corresponding class folder!

Thanks for reading. We look forward to you joining our group!
