Welcome to ZERO-G

Don't feel like becoming an idol and prefer to work backstage?  Well, now you can!  For we have ZERO-G; a designer course for Star Idol Academy! In this course, you can study the path of the designer; creating coords for performances, movies, and even product advertisements!

Are you ready to get creative?

As designers are not idol students, they will not be receiving Idol EXP (unless they are an idol/designer student.)  Instead, they will receive designer EXP, which is awarded whenever you post a new coord!
To pass the activity check as a designer, you must post at least ONE coord every 6 months.
In order to make a designing student, you must have at least ONE Coord/design for their alignment made in advance!
This is so it can be compared and see if it's too similar to an already existing alignment.

Designers have their own applications, but they use the same school uniform.
The only difference for designers is that they don't have "Idol Colors." The stripes on their school uniforms remain white, and the ties use the same color black as the bottoms/collar.

If you happen to have an idol who also wants to be a designer, that's OK too! We have a special sticker that you can stick on your application once you've reached 1000 Idol EXP!

BOOM! Instant designer.
But beware. You'll have to pass two activity checks.
AND YOU CANNOT COMBINE THEM

.We also have a template to for an alignment card, to easily provide information about your brand to other people!

Feel free to make changes to the card; you can add your own custom background or adjust the colors, but DO NOT change the SIA logo or the color of the stars.  Small edits on the stars are fine as long as we can still see the signature yellow there.

DESIGNER ALIGNMENTS

Your Designer Alignment is the focus of your brand; it’s a small description to help others understand what styles of clothing they can expect to see from your brand! There are plenty of different styles out there, so be creative!

Alignment Examples:
Basic, Girly, Lolita, Lively, Preppy, Bold, Rock, Sporty, Mod, Feminine, Chic, Boho, Eastern, Gothic

Of course, there are many more possibilities beyond these; the styles listed above are just a few of the many different alignments you can choose from!

"But what if I want to design something outside of my alignment?"

That's OK! Your alignment is only there to serve as a guide to help keep your brand consistent, and to avoid everyone designing the same types of clothing. If you want to try something different occasionally, that’s perfectly fine! Just be sure to try and keep a solid theme between designs most of the time.

Once you choose an alignment you’ll need to choose a brand name! Brand names can be whatever you’d like, so be creative!

Stick your Brand and a nice little logo for it on your application!

You can view current alignments on our Class Registry! (tab: 0-G)

EXP + OUTFIT RARITY

In addition to these base values, coords can also receive bonus EXP based on the following factors:

As mentioned above, Designers will receive designer EXP for every coord they post! Different outfits will reward different amounts of designer EXP based on their rarity!

MODEL & BASE

When creating a design, you must feature a full-body view of the design from the front (back view is optional.) You may use an OC to model the design, or you may use a mannequin, AS LONG AS YOU DRAW IT YOURSELF. SIA does NOT accept bases under ANY circumstances. If you want to use a base, you MUST DRAW IT YOURSELF.

In addition, there will be an EXP bonus for designs featuring models! Every 0-G outfit that uses a model gets +50 bonus exp. For a coord to count as using a model, you must draw the model from scratch; drawing the OC’s features onto a mannequin you use for your designs does NOT count.

If you use a base, it MUST be drawn by you. Bases that are made by others; F2U and P2U bases are NOT permitted. Please keep in mind that models using bases will not receive the bonus EXP!

COORD CARDS

Some designs can be mixed and matched! To help specify which pieces of a coord can be interchanged, you can make coord cards for segments of your outfits! Coord cards are optional, but including them in your designs will award 5 bonus EXP per card!

EXAMPLES:
If your outfit is only a dress and shoes, that's 2 cards, so you'd get 10 bonus exp.

If your outfit includes a shirt, pants, shoes, and accessories, that's 4 cards, and you'd get 20 bonus exp.

Have a design/coord concept but no brand to fit it in?
Fear not!

For now we have Star Dust, a common brand for SIA to house all the designs made by those without a brand of their own! All coords submitted to Star Dust will be of common rarity. In addition, no EXP will be given for designs submitted to Star Dust.

FAQ

How do Idol Colors affect my designs?
As SIA works with an idol color system instead of a type system, designers may include a portion of their outfits that can change colors to match any idol color if desired!  This is not required, but it helps to make outfits more personalized to the students wearing them!  Please keep in mind that not all idol colors might match your coord’s color palette, however!

Is there a limit on how many PRs I can make?
You will not be able to design PRs until you have surpassed the Student level.  From Novice level onwards, you may create one PR per month.  This is to prevent EXP abuse when designing coords.

Can I turn my designer into an idol-designer if they were just a designer student before?
Yes! Once their alignment has 1000 exp, they can become an idol-designer! Ask an admin or go to the idol color journal to reserve a color (mention its for your designer who you're turning into a idol-designer) and then update their app with the idol app and slap the designer student sticker on it!

If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact the admins and we’ll do our best to assist you!
